Religious "Disputes" :-/

Religion Religion....It's a sensitive topic to talk about but somehow my brother and I end up having conversations about religion and what it has done to society etc.

When it comes to the subject of religion, I almost always try to do my best to stay out of it or at least be open-minded and respectful about it. And my brother is like that too and I like how he points out different perspectives or views on it. For example, we started talking about wars and physical disputes that happened back then due to religion and how people hold strongly to their beliefs despite the other party considering it wrong.

Anyways, I started with this topic because a co-worker I know will not forgive her daughter if she finds out she is a lesbian etc. She started to point out that this is not what the Bible accepts or preaches and she does not want her daughter to go to hell. In response, I started to mention how she should still listen to her, guide her, and pretty much love her no matter what. If two people love each other, what is the problem with them being together? Anyways she started to rebuttal with me saying that what I'm saying is wrong blah blah blah etc. Keep in mind though that she knows that I know she's seeing a married man. So if she's going to follow Biblical rules, commandments, and principles, I don't think she should be the one to judge and chastise a person for wrong doing. I know I came and grew up from a strict religion that I do not "follow" anymore due to the conversation and dispute above.

*sigh* ........Yeah lol
