So we're at Cheli's in Dearborn watching the Wings game, right?
Well, Mom's had a few drinks. She's feeling loose.
Who else decided that Cheli's would be a good place to catch to catch the game?
Why, that would be the 2009 #1 Draft Pick for the Detroit Lions,
Matthew Stafford. for those not in the know, Stafford got a six-year deal for $72 million, with $41.7 million guaranteed.
Well, mom had imbibed enough throughout the night that she thought it was a good idea to flirt with Mr. Stafford. On the way to the bathroom she stood in a small gathering of Lions' players and said "I just wanted to know what it would be like to stand in the huddle beside big, strong football players." On her way back to the table, she asked them "Are you guys actually going to WIN this year??" Thankfully, I was not around for either of these lovely interactions.
Unfortunately, I was around for the next one. I'm walking her out and standing directly over her shoulder. As we are leaving, she walks by him, points directly into his face, and tells him "BE AWESOME!" in a voice three octaves lower than her normal voice. He politely replied "I will, ma'am." All I could do was slap my forehead and scoot her along.
