Ok, this post will be filled with much rambling, 'cause I'm dead tired.

I have an interview for a substitute position at a district pretty close to me on Friday. I'm really excited about that. I mean, reallyreally excited. Probably moreso than is normal, but I AM the Queen of Exaggeration, after all. Pray for me. I very much need a job, and I won't find a better one for me at this point than subbing.

I think I'm going to still try to do the nursing thing, while I'm subbing. (Here I'm talking like I already have the job... But, the way my phone conversation went, I don't feel like it will really be a problem.) Of course, this semester is kinda shot, because I didn't decide to do this until it was too late to get priority registration. The only evening anatomy & physiology class is full, with a full waiting list. I'll see if I can crash microbiology tomorrow, but I don't have my hopes up.

Not that it matters. What's an extra semester?

At least, now that I'm not taking A&P, I can go to Knotts Berry Farm with Vickie on Wednesday. *Yay!* I can't wait to meet her. :D

And I have pictures from my trip to Shaver Lake!

We rose before the sun, bravely facing the pre-dawn traffic and road construction of Los Angeles proper...

The road was fraught with peril in the form of engine-butchering grades and runaway trucks... but almost all of us made it there in one piece.

Here's our lovely cabin. If you look carefully you can see the door that leads to the Lair of the Spiders of Unusual Size. Us humans hung out upstairs, mostly on the deck reading a book and throwing handing out peanuts to the Steller's Jays.

When not at "the cabin," we hung out on "the lake." In the depths of "The Lake" is a ghost mining town. You can check out this very fascinating history at the local tourist trap souvenir shoppe. Or you can ignore the poltergeists and catch frogs, instead.

We did some bird watching. This is either an eagle or an osprey nest. No, I'm not making it up. No, I don't have a cool National-Geographic-worthy picture of a great bird scooping up a fish from the lake. I took a picture of the nest. Be happy.

There's also great water sport fun to be had by all. This one is my cousin. I'm on the boat, waving the orange flag. I'm very good at flag-waving. ^_^

A new feature this year is a lighting truss for a very hot television reality show called... Something like The Hatchet "Child Survivor." I guess the kids have to pretend to be fending for themselves in this vast wilderness. We puttered by in our boat and offered them some hot dogs and soda, but the production staff got mad. I don't know why.

And, of course, the cutest part of the trip were the flying squirrels. They came to help the birds eat the peanuts. Aren't they sweet? At one point there were four running around on the tree. Yay, squirrels.

Now, I know you want to see more pictures, but that's just going to have to be enough. xP *yawn* It took me a while to post all those. I didn't even get a chance to talk about how I pulled the shower head out of the wall or ran out of gas on the free way. (Ohhhhh, memoriiies, liight the corrrnerrrs of myyy miiiinnnd...)

I'm sorry... I'll go away now.

Much love *squishles flist*
