I was going to go to Mexico this weekend with my church, but when I arrived at the meeting place, nobody was there and the gate was pad locked. Now, I know they didn't leave early, because no church I've ever known is ever on time for anything except the services. However, if they were running late, you'd think someone would have been there, waiting just like us. The only thing I can think of is the lady at the front office who told me they were leaving at 6:30 didn't know what she was talking about. I'm a little angry, though, because I not only paid $25 for this trip, but I took a day off of work. There have been few enough working days in the last couple months, as it is.
While I'm complaining, I took my car in to get a smog check a couple days ago. They couldn't pass it because the "check engine" light was on. Now, that light turns on and off all the time. I've just stopped paying attention to it. Of course, they didn't know why the light was on. They had to run it through a (100-some-odd-dollars) diagnostic only to discover that there's a problem with the sensor. (Gee, ya think?) $200-ish dollars later, they had the sensor fixed. So, my engine light is off, but I have to drive it for about 100 miles before I can take it back to get the actual smog check (which will be another 100, if I'm lucky).
And my pay check looked so nice when I got it. *sigh*
EDIT: So, it turns out the meeting time was 6:30 PM. LOL
