old camera (which I bought a year ago and is a total POS).
I got it at Christmas as a hand-me-down from my older brother, who is a professional wedding photographer.
It's an older model, but looking at the
Flickr profile of it, it still takes
amazing pictures if I wanted to hock it on ebay, it would still go for several hundred dollars.
He only gave me the body, so I'm checking out lenses online. It's a bit overwhelming because there are so many to choose from, and they are all quite expensive! I am clutching my pearls looking at these prices.
It looks like I'm still going to be spending several hundred dollars on lenses, tools, etc. even though I got the body free. Thank goodness Canon DSLR bodies can use the same lenses. So if I want to upgrade in the next year or so, I'll only have to bend over for the cost of a body, as opposed to the cost of a body and lenses.
