You know what I hate about out society? It is WAY to materialistic. I mean, all you hear about is how you need this or that. You turn on the t.v. and all you see are people trying to tell you how you can't live without this car or drinking that beer. You walk down the street and there are billboards telling you that to be cool you NEED to have those shoes or whatever computer. You turn on the radio and you hear people singing about not having enough money to drive this car or how they DO have enough money to afford everything.
I am so, so sick of this. People get way to caught up in material things. I mean, these things are starting to replace people. Instead of being focused on how many friends they can make, people are focused on how many Louis Vuittons they can get from their parents or how many pairs of Seven jeans they can have.
Seriously, what good are these things? Okay, so sure, I have nice things too. I have a cell phone (but I didn't ask for it, my parents got it for me for emergencies, and right now it is currently broken because it finally gave in after the 100th time of dropping it. I am such a klutz!), I have nice clothes, I live in a nice house, my parents drive nice cars. But you know what? These things don't control my life. I CAN live without them.
Having nice things and needing nice things are two different things. Lately, it seems like people can't live without their cell phones or going shopping at least once a week. You know what my favorite thing to say to these people is? You can't bring these things with you after you die, so why get so attached to them now?
I hate it when people ask, what is one thing you can't survive without. The usual answer from people is "my cellphone" or "my computer" or "my blackberry". But you know what they should really be saying? GOD.
Without God none of us would be living. None of us would be on this earth right now. Some people take all the credit for their success and put all their love and worship into the latest gadgets. TAKE A STEP BACK. Think about it. Who should you really be taking pride in and worrying about pleasing?
Don't worship your stupid Juicy jacket. Don't get so focused on having the latest cell phone model. Material things shouldn't control your life. You love them, but have they ever loved you back? My point exactly.
