Thanksgiving was quite fun and filling-- family was nice and polite as always, and then we all crashed afterwards in the living room, letting the 3 year old roam freely-- which means she ate about 15-20 candies before anyone had noticed, plus those she had before and during dinner, so she was quite cranky since we were all tired and she wasn't. She did feed me some food, and had a runny nose, so I do believe she is the one who gave me quite another flu, which started late Friday night.
Stuffy nose, very swollen throat glands, constant, throbbing headache, sick to tummy, not at all hungry and just all around tired and cranky. I cannot seem to sleep well at night, even with taking something to help me do so. I hate, hate being sick, and haven't actually yet even recovered from my last coughing and flu bit a few months back. I did work yesterday, luckily it was a short 6 hour shift, otherwise I probably would have called someone else to do it for me.
I am off today and tomorrow (Matt and I do volunteer with kiddos tomorrow, I will have to see how today goes before I make a decision on that, though) so hopefully I can recover a bit more and be good for the rest of the working week, Wednesday through Saturday. I got really kinda quirky shifts, mostly either 10 AM until 4 PM or 4 PM until 10 PM -- one was 11 AM until 5 PM, however. I think this new job, well it isn't too new anymore, is gonna make me fat though! I cannot stop drinking drinks (we get them free before, during and right after our shifts)! Some of them, if you drank like 2 or 3, would be your entire calorie allowance for one day, maybe even two!!
Matt is a bit stressed and overwhelmed with school, currently. He is a bit behind on lab reports, a research paper and independent project in a class. He went in this morning, his day off, to try and catch up and get some help on things. I know, and believe that he can do this, but I hope that he knows that, too. He does really make me very, very super duper proud-- and I hope he knows that, too!
Cazilies big ole' old Birthday is today *glees and sings* I wrote her a nifty (well, probably more silly) little Birthday poem, which is posted in her LJ's comments from her latest entry :) Sneek over and take a peek, and make sure to wish her many, many best birthday blessings!
Hope everyone had a nice holiday and safe and fun weekend :) Btw, if you have a Starbucks close by, try this drink for a change ;)
Tall (or whatever size you like)
Soy Milk
No Water
Chai Tea Latte
it is the bestest, to me currently :)
PS-- we got a bit of snow either late late last night or earlier this morning!! it really isn't that much at all, but still makes my day! my parents in Texas got around 3 inches, goodness!!
