I said it would never happen, but it did. Yesterday after seeing pictures a pregnant blogger posted, I found myself missing my big pregnant belly. I was so sure throughout my entire pregnancy, and ever since giving birth that I would not miss it once it was gone, but I did. For a brief moment I missed being pregnant. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to be pregnant again (well not for a few years at least), I just had the odd longing to rub my belly in wonder of who the little person in there was.

Here is Lucy and I this afternoon. I made this wrap probably six months ago from a McCall’s sewing pattern (M5678). I had originally wanted to buy a mei tai, after I heard great reviews about the ones by BabyHawk. After I found this pattern on sale for 99 cents at our fabric store, I realized how easy (and cheap!) it would be to make.

I absolutely love wearing baby around, but the sling gets a bit tiring on my shoulders. With the mei tai, baby’s weight is more evenly distributed and so far I have found I don’t get quite so tired wearing her. It takes a bit of practice to tie and is definitely not as easy to throw on as the sling, but it really is comfortable- and Lucy loves it. She is still quite small so she kind of just curls up in the fetal position and falls asleep, but as she grows her legs and arms will come out the side and I can flip her around to face forward.
