Today was a nice day out. I got to meet up with one of my favorite vintage bloggers, Solanah of
Vixen Vintage, who is down in Southern California on vacation. We tried getting together on her last visit to San Diego a few months back, but things didn’t quite work out. This time though we planned it out a bit further in advance, so we were able to have a play date. Let me just say, she is even cuter in person, and oh so sweet. She told me all about Portland estate sales and vintage shopping in the area. I tend to get incredibly nervous when I meet people for the first time, and when I get nervous I blab a lot about silly things. I sure hope I didn’t talk her ear off!!
We met at a local coffee shop and chatted for a bit, then walked down to
Frock You Vintage. We spent the majority of our time browsing their incredible selection of clothes, trying on hats, and talking with the guy who was working. I absolutely love this store, and really need to go in more often, especially since it is only a ten minute walk from my apartment.
From there we headed down the street to another vintage shop, which apparently had up and moved without my consent. Rude. We did however get to check out a new little shop in the area called
Fables, the clothes are all vintage and sailor inspired.
It was a fun day, and I am so glad we were finally able to meet. I am really hoping I can arrange a trip up to Portland later this year (my brother and his wife moved there earlier this year), and do some vintage shopping with Solanah there.

Solanah’s post with even more pictures from our day. Thanks to her for sharing her pictures, I never even took my camera out of my purse!
