The fandom world is very small.
So, last night, I'm standing by the Spanish steps when I hear two girls who are on our tour, but not part of my son's school group, say the word fanfic.
I could not resist. I asked, "Um, I heard fanfic. What fandom?"
MERLIN!
I am now officially the coolest adult on the trip. We talked fandom and slash dragons (they are also into Glee and some HP) for a while. They were amused that an adult knew about fandom. I had to explain that fandoms have been around for a long time. And, yes, they are on LJ, but I didn't exchange names.
What a small small fandom world.
Also, got blessed by the Pope today. Not sure yet which is cooler.
