Why all the post-its?

It's a lovely rainy day here which is so welcome after the sweltering heat of this week. We're having a lazy day - I'm still in my pyjamas - watching old films on abcfamily along with the HP marathon ( Read more... )

Hee! I've done that! I picked up a book I hadn't read in awhile and found I'd marked it up with post its full of notes that, at the time, were probably really clever and apropriate. I don't know why she never got the book from me. :P When I reread it, my notes were odd, disjointed, and seemed to be without point. I wonder what I was thinking. :P

This is the thing - the passages I marked don't seem particularly relevant or related. Just odd moments strung together.

Maybe it was for discussion points? I remember we had this massive weekly reread before... HBP came out I think. That was the summer of 2005 and we (locals) finally met in person that fall 2005 and this was an activity so we could reread together and then also get to know one another?

Of course, I could totally be making that up. XD

That's probably it - I just wish I remember why those points were so important!

Usually when I have one of my HP books full of post-its, it's because I was either marking things for a fic, or I was marking things for a meta essay I was planning on writing. OR, I was trying to just mark passages that related to one another in order to keep my canon straight in my fics.

Yesterday, I had to literally think long and hard as to what the second Patil twin's name was. I remembered Padma, but it took me forever to remember Parvati. I was like OMG AM LOSING MY POTTER MIND >:0 It made me feel kind of poignant.

LOL, icon!!

Yeah, I probably marked it for some sort of discussion, but damned if I can remember what it was. And it is so sad when there are parts I can't remember! I think that's part of the reason I wanted to do a re-read.

I'd like to re-read them but I honestly am not sure if I can get through the first one again. It's a painfully obvious first novel!

Funny you say that because I am struggling a bit to get through this one. Though I do love spotting all of the bits that will become so important later on.

They are like a comfort read and yeah, I do want to re-read before DH Part 1. I am loving all of the little bits ABC Family is showing this weekend along with the films.
