The day after....
Today, I'm having the day I meant to have yesterday. Which is: I've made breakfast, tidied up the kitchen and family room, done three loads of laundry, changed the sheets on the bed, and done the prep work for dinner.
And it turns out I'm one of the few people on my street to have cable and internet (guess it was smart to switch over to Verizon after all), so I've told a couple of neighbors that they're welcome to watch the Superbowl over here (though it'll be BYOB and food).
Finally, I was thinking earlier how lucky we were that my husband was home yesterday. Firefighters, paramedics, nurses, doctors, and utility workers don't get to call out from work due to weather. My neighbor's wife is a nurse and has been stuck at the hospital all weekend and I've had to brave a few snowstorms on my own and it's no fun. So when you're thanking the emergency workers, spare a thought for their families as well.
