Anger! Confused Customers at the Supermarket

Apr 07, 2010 21:51

As I mentioned in my last entry, we've had unusually warm weather recently. After a harsher than usual winter, I want to sit outside and absorb the warmth; I feel cold down to the marrow of my bones. It seems, however, that the warmth is too much, too soon, and the unseasonable weather has left some people feeling confused. Like young children they lash out in their confusion in anger.

At work we ran out of the small plastic bags that you put produce in. This might seem like in minor inconvience, but to customers already confused by the summer-like weather in early April, it was nothing short of a calamity. Angry and confused, the vainly searched the department, seeking the bags, and when told that bags were not available, they could figure out how to transport their fruits and vegetables home without bags. I told them where they could put their vegetables (in the bottom of the shopping carts), but my suggestion was met with a revulsion that confused me. Did they not plan in washing their produce?

I am so very glad we are getting a shipment of bags tomorrow.
