I don't normally do memes and things, but I felt as if my life needed some excitement.
A meme is evidently the way to go.
So here we go, a meme nabbed from
book_memes.

Well I got 27. Take that BBC!!!
Mind you, considering that there are 100 of them in total, 27 feels a bit disappointing. And tbh there are books on that list that I've been meaning to read for years, like Crime and Punishment and Grapes of Wrath; seeing them all laid out like that only makes me think that I've been severely neglecting my reading!
Despite that, I know I won't get round to reading them any time soon. At the moment I'm currently wading through Tolkien's stories, because I've been due to re-read them now for ages. Next on my to-read pile is the (relatively) new Sherlock Holmes novel The House of Silk by Anthony Horowitz, and then I'm intending to sink my teeth into The Sagas of the Icelanders and the plays of John Ford. (You should see my copy of the Icelandic Sagas! I don't normally like to hold books that are really thick but this one is just so lovely and crisp that I could sit and look at it all day!)
So there you have it, a list of books that I have read and then a shorter list of books that I am shortly intending to read. How exciting...
