Not Dead Yet!!
I have returned!! ...To this site, anyway. I've been busy with the newfound freedom that comes with the holidays, video games, fan fiction, reproducing plot bunnies, and attempts at getting the Japanese versions of Narutimate Accel 3 and Persona 3 Portable on my PSP. All in all, not a bad way to enjoy one's holidays.
Badass Banchos, 30-minute Heroes, and a Brave's Travels
I never knew how much fun it was to download games from Playstation Network via my PS3... After an attempt to download stuff from the Japanese PSN didn't work (because apparently, you can't use US money for it), I put $100 to good use by downloading three PSP games from the US PSN...and the original Suikoden, but I deleted that since it won't save on my PS3 for some reason.
I've got Kenka Bancho: Badass Rumble- a nice fighting game that's about a young bancho (name for the toughest delinquent in an area) who goes on a field trip with a bunch of other schools and swears to defeat the banchos of all the other Japanese schools--all 42 of them--and become the souban--the bancho that rules over all bancho and all gangs in Japan. If you've watched Naruto Gakuenden, the word souban is familair. That game provides a lot of information for anyone hoping to do a fic about bancho or a Naruto Gakuenden fic.
I've also got 30 Minute Hero - a combination RPG-Tactical RPG-Shooter-Action Adventure game with 2D sprites that likes to poke fun at the traditional game genre. So far, I'm only on the first arc Hero 30, where you play a speedy hero who has to defeat Evil Lords and stop their attempts to destroy the world in 30 minutes with the help of a Time Goddess who agrees to reverse time for our Hero...if he has enough money for it. According to the guidebook, Evil Lord 30 is the second arc and is about a vain purple-loving Evil Lord who falls for a cursed human's inner beauty, and races to free her form her curse, but because her condition doesn't allow her to remain in the sun for too long, he has to summon monsters to defeat his foes in 30 minutes. Princess 30 is the third arc about a Princess with a HUGE crossbow who goes on adventures for cures for her father's illness, but because he put her on a strict curfew, she has to return to the castle in 30 minutes or be locked out for the rest of the day.
Brave Story: A New Traveler is your classic RPG where the main character leaves his world and enters the fantasy world of Vision to fulfill his wish, to cure his friend who seems to have fallen ill. Along the way, he makes friends with cat girls, lizard men, warrior women, and even the hero of the game's prequel! After grind-hard games like Disgaea, sim RPGs like Persona and wacky games like 30 Minute Hero, this is game is nice to enjoy every once in a while.
But the game I wanted to buy the most was Persona 3 Portable for the PSP. I wanted to be able to play the female hero and make Akihito fall in love with me! (There, I said it! And I wouldn't mind if the P4 Portable has the same gender choice feature so I can comfort Yosuke and Kou and...hell, I'd be happy to make Kanji feel straight!! ^__^) But the game is only available in Japan...and I don't know if I can hold out long enough until it reaches America--IF it reaches America! if it does, I hope it's on PSN like the other Persona, because I couldn't find any of the games I got on PSN down here!
Squashed Danzo, Dark Sasuke, Pressure-Induced Hyperventilating Naruto = ^__^
I'll be one of the people who admits to loving the latest chapter of Naruto. Or should I say last week's chapter? Like it matters since we won't be having one this week. Anyway, I enjoyed seeing Danzo get squished by Susanoo--even if it didn't really happen, it was a good bloody treat! I could even overlook the fact that, according to Kishi, the result of Sasuke and Danzo's fight will determine his path in the manga. Also, I knew Naruto was going to break down eventually--hell, if there's something i like about being a fanfic author it's being able to torture the characters--but I never knew it would knock him out like that... Poor Naruto... *sniff* T__T I hope he gets better soon~...!
Fanfiction News
Recently, I posted the 59th chapter of Naruto X, which was a parody of Naruto Gakuenden called Naruto Gakuenden X. The few fans that reviewed said that I should complete the story, either as an omake series or a fic in its own right. I'm not sure about that because unless more fans want it, i may not continue it. Aside from Gakuenden X, I'm planning on taking a different route with Naruto X after the next arc.
For SiNful Rose II, I wanna complete a couple more chapters of Naruto X before I get started. I still don't know why more fans are reviewing that than Naruto X...and I only have two chapters up!! >x<
I won't be able to update starting next week sunday because I'm going home for New Year's. There's no Internet connection over there now that i've moved out, so the only thing my computer's good for is writing, writing and more writing. Somebody, do me a favor and send me links for any episodes and chapters of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden that I happen to miss!!
