I'M BACK!!!
And better than ever, baby! Well...maybe not. But I've managed to get more crap to make myself feel at home while I was over at Florida. Aside from clothes and school supplies, I've managed to ascertain (am I using this right??) a wide amount of books--both manga and novel! Granted, they're three mysteries and a supernatural romance, but their cover art made them seem so interesting!
Books I came Back With
Aoi House - Omnibus Volume 1 (I never thought I'd like a comic about yaoi-obsessed girls and their sex toys, but it's real funny! Gotta read the rest online!)
Fairy Tail - Volumes 1 & 2 (I should've taken more. I'm starting to love that series! Way more than One Piece, anyway...)
Night School: The Weirn Stories - Book 1 (From the person who bought us Dramacon via TokyoPop. Seems real interesting.)
Negima?! Neo - Volumes 1 & 2 (That was all they had, sadly. I never saw the anime, so this is nice. Go Baka Rangers!! XoX)
Naruto - Volumes 45 & 46 (I'd already read it online, but I had to leave behind the majority of my Naruto manga back on St. Croix. Seeing Killer Bee say "Fool, ya Fool" and rhyming every couple of seconds, I'm glad my roomates weren't awake to see my crack up.
Phoenix Wright - The Wright Files & Edgeworth Files (OBJECTION!! ^__^ I've never played the game before, on account of lack of a Nintendo DS, but reading the manga was just as good. They were all oneshots, but, it was still good. It almost compelled me to buy a DS...)
Life Sucks - Second 1 (And seriously, that's how the volumes are called. It's not a manga, but it's a comic about the not-so glamorous life of an average guy who was turned into a vampire by his boss (an old world vampire lord) so he would run the night shift of a stop-and-go supermarket. It was a great escape from all the cliche vampire stuff after Twilight was released--because there were SOOO many books that seemed to have been inspired by Twilight)
The Story of Emily Strange (I haven't read it yet, but I glanced inside and was impressed by how it was written--like some sort of scrapbook diary, with no chapters or nothing.)
The Missing Ink: A Tattoo Shop Mystery (Seriously, I wasn't into mystery stories as a kid, but what first drew me to the book was the art. It looked like something out of a manga or a comic, and they made the heroine look so sexy. I'm not into tattoos, but this story's pretty cool. I'm gonna try and find the next book in the series. ^__^)
Psych (I got two books, but I failed to remember one of their names. I finished reading one yesterday on the way back to St. Thomas called "A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Read" and it was so good. They should've made it into an actual episode. Or did they? It's been so long since I last saw Psych. Either way, there was a lack of calling Gus something dumb or giving him a silly fake name. Other things made up for it.)
Book whose title I cannot remember (I oughta be ashamed for that, but I remember that it's a book about a psychic medium who can see ghosts, and one of satan's servants arrives to drag her to hell for some reason and she starts to fall for him. Once again, the coverart was what attracted me.
I also bought video games.
Games i Bought Back With Me
Naruto Ultimate Ninja 4 (It was the only one there. Was I lucky or what?!)
Cross Edge (I heard this game got bad reviews, but whatever. I'd do anything to have Morgan and Etna and Litlith in my party. The other girls? They can suck eggs. -x-)
Blaze Blue (A neat anime-style fighting game that only has 12 characters, but is still very popular with the guys at Playstation Magazine. It's like Soul Calibur in 2D, apparently)
Yggdra Union: We'll Never Fight Alone) It looked like it played like Soul Nomad, so I picked it up. I didn't know how difficult it was to play. I'm still on the stage with damn Gulcasa, and I assume I'd be done there (even though my Yggdra's only level 8 or 9), but I read specifically that like Riviera: The Promise Land, there was a bathouse scene! And damn it, I want my MilanorxYggdra at last!! >x<)
Dance Factory (?): Is that what it's name is? It probably isn't. I just refer to it as "That Music Game I can barely play". I thought it would be like Dance Dance Revolution for the PSP, but I was wrong. VEEEERY WRONG. Even in Beginner Mode, the only thing Beginner about it is that you use only four buttons (the most you can use in this game is eight?!), because it's difficult to get good scores when the arrows move so quickly... I may wind up selling that game unless I take the easy way out and download a game save file from online...
The Sims 3 (I just wanted to play this thing on PC for once and see what the fuss was about. I never expected to interact with people.)
Spore (Same excuse as with Sims 3, but for the sake of creating little monsters for inspirations. Though the prospect of creating cute fuzzy cabbits that will raze someone else's planet and dominate it sounds nice... >_>)
I wanted Dissidia: Final Fantasy, but it wasn't out yet. T__T That means I'm gonna have to wait until later in the fall to match up Cloud with Squall and live out my KH Final Fantasy...
Aside from games and books, I went to a number of cool places. The West Lake hotel...where we had a jacuzzi in our room!! Barnes and Nobles...where I saw books as far as my eye could see! Game Stop...which I saw in Mexico, but was so wonderful to see there. Busch Gardens...where I didn't go on any rides, but I got to see animals of almost every variety. Would've loved to see a lion, though. T__T
But the magic is over now... School will be back in session soon, and I will not be looking forward to it. Because if I manage to screw things up here, I'll have to go back home to St. Croix...and if you knew how much I hated living with my parents, you'd know why.
Well, I still managed to keep up with Naruto chapters through my sister's IPod (THank you, Wi-FI!) and I much say that I'm shocked at the way things have turned. Danzo has Uchiha Shisui's Sharingan and body parts, there's a Kiri ninja with a Byakugan, the Konoha ninja may try and kill Sasuke for once (still don't know how I feel about that), the majority of Kage had a part in dealing with Akatsuki, and the ninja of Konoha are gonna prepare to stop relying on the kid with the demon in his gut!! Oh, and Sasuke's making his move. God, I wanna see him get pawned now. He needs a reality check in the form of the Kage delivering the smackdown on his ass. Can't wait to see the next chapter, though!
Speaking of Naruto, while I was away, I got an email with a request for a challenge to write a NarutoxSoul Nomada crossover, and while the prospect was nice, I just couldn't do something like what they wanted me to do. But afterwards, I wound up coming up with more Naruto cross over ideas and I wound up with a lot of interesting dreams...
Fanfiction Ideas I came up with in Orlando
Unnamed Naruto-Soul Nomad crossover: It was meant to become entirely AU, where Konoha is a village in the Soul Nomad world, but because they're hidden, they don't know about the crap that's going down. The World Eaters have been replaced by eight of the original Tailed Demons--collections of souls who were purposely twisted to create demons by the boss of their master, the Master of Death, Gig, who was supposedly killed years ago. When the bijuu awaken, strangers from another village (of which include Danette and female Revya--the Heroine of Soul Nomad) come with a sword--the Onyx Blade that Gig was sealed into many years ago--to give to the only person capable of wielding it: Naruto. However, the reason why he's able to wield it isn't because he's the reincarnation of a certain person or because he has the Kyuubi inside of him...it's because...SPOILER!!! Through a serious of brutal events, it is learned that a lot of people want to capture the Onyx Blade to do with the Bijuu what they will--destroy them, tame them, use them as weapons--but because of the sword and Gig bonding with him, trouble comes his way.
Union of Souls: Never Die Alone: A crossover between Yggdra Union and Soul Nomad, in which Yggdra, the daughter of the former Seraph of Heaven, is sent to Hell on a false mission and left there to die for reasons unknown to her. She loses her memory and is found by Gig, the Angel of Death who was sent to Hell just before her and seems to lost all memory of his life in Heaven save for one: to kill the Archangels. Thinking that Yggdra is an ordinary human blessed with holy power he needs to get to the human world, Gig binds her to him via a chain between their souls and dubs her his. Needless to say, it's like Memento Mori, but different from the original, where Revya was Gig's willing sex slave. Although, she'll still be there.
I'll start back on writing the 43rd chapter of Naruto X...as soon as I can set up that damn Spore account. >x<
