Yes, it's a post from Chas!!! Holy crap, right?
Well, I figured it was time for one.
I'm not even going to get into the "so for the past however long" stories, I'll just say that I'm very very excited that I have a real honest to goodness vacation coming up. On Friday morning I get on a plane, arrive in Las Vegas at 10am where I meet my cousin and her family, and then spend the day exploring there. That night apparently I'm going to see the Cirque du Soliel show, Ka and we are staying at the MGM Grand (one of their attractions is a lion habitat/exhibit thing that I REALLY want to go to).
The next day I drive back with my cousin and her family to their home in Twentynine Palms, CA. I get to spend a whole week with them and get to say that I've actually been to California! There was mention of Sea World or something like that, but that was before I decided to fly into Vegas and Karen decided to buy Cirque tickets so who knows now what's on the adventure menu. Even if all I do is hang out with them and go to the pool, I'll be perfectly happy and still excited about that as a vacation.
I fly back the following Saturday night, getting back into Raleigh at 9:30pm(ish). I imagine I'm going to need all of Sunday to recover and attempt to re-adjust to the time difference. I have a new digital camera with a large SD memory card so there will hopefully be lots of pictures. I'm really excited about seeing Vegas, during the day AND at night. I'm looking forward to seeing the show so much I can't even put it into words. But mostly, honestly, I'm looking forward to seeing Karen and having some time away. I think it's a good time for me to be out of town for a week. Hopefully the sun won't bake me too much while I'm out there enjoying the 102 degree DRY HEAT (bonfire anyone?).
Anyway, I'm sure I'll have plenty to write about when I get back and hopefully I will return rested and happy!
