BIG news & LOTS of it!!!
1. Blake and I are ENGAGED!!! He asked me on Sunday, May 27...it was wonderful and I plan on typing it all up soon...right now I'm just too frickin excited about the rest of our news!!! My ring is gorgeous...beyond gorgeous...almost beyond perfect! There are pictures on facebook, if you care to see. Otherwise, I am open for visitors anytime, I would LOVE to see people....ahem, LOGAN...ANSLEY...ANDYHEATON!
2. Blake GOT A JOB on Tuesday, June 12th...at Brookhaven MS in Decatur. He will be teaching 7th grade Civics. Which means, he will teach one semester and then start all over again with new kids the next semester. SOOO he only has to plan for 1/2 a year. Totally awesome. I am so proud of him and he's excited about it as well. Daddy's excited that I'm "not marrying a dead-beat anymore", lol.
3. We finally heard back from the church we wanted (First United Methodist Church in downtown Huntsville...almost 200 years old and GORGEOUS. Seriously, it's my dream come true and we're both ecstatic!)...this means that WE HAVE OFFICIALLY SET THE DATE!!! March 15, 2008!!! Now we have a countdown going and Mom and I can seriously get to planning. The goal is to do as much as possible before I start working, that way I won't have an enormous amount to do every day after school.
4. I GOT A JOB yesterday, June 15th...at Cedar Ridge MS in Decatur. I will be teaching 8th grade World History...I will be commuting about an hour both ways until after the wedding, but then we are going to live in Decatur so I will be a lot closer (talk about a wedding gift!!). We are so relieved to both be employed so early in the summer! Now we can start planning and getting ready a little at a time with less stress than we would have had.
5. We are house-hunting! After doing the math we realized that rent in Huntsville/Decatur is so low & housing costs are so low that we could live in a house and pay a little if any more than we would for rent! We are hopeful and have a Realtor and everything. I have already fallen in love with one little house, but I won't jinx it...if we start to think it will work out, I will post more. Just know this, it has a guest room. Ahem...LOGAN! ANDYHEATON! The plan goes: Blake will live in the house and we will fix it up, paint, etc, a little at a time before the wedding. After we're married, it will officially be our first HOME!!! I'm so excited & I can't wait for us to have a house/HOME together!
Soooo, like I said BIG news & LOTS of it...
...life is so good right now, it's kind of freaking me out a little...
P.S. We're going to a BoSox-Braves game in Atlanta on Monday...I'm so stinking excited!!! Talk about a great way to celebrate after getting a job, etc.
