(no subject)
SOOO...this weekend was wonderful...mostly. Blake came up on Friday & that was nice. PLUS he had to go to an expulsion hearing Friday during the day and got to leave Montevallo MS around 1. The hearing ended around 2:30ish...it was in Alabaster, so not only was he out of school 30 minutes earlier...he was also 30 minutes closer!!! That was a pleasant surprise. He got her around 4 and we headed out to do errands. We were gonna go to the bank so he could deposit his paycheck, but he forgot it (duh), so instead we went....PROMISE NOT TO TELL MY MOTHER...to my favorite jewelry store in town. just to look! it was fun & while we were there we saw-- & i partially tried on--an 8 carat diamond. blake so nobly said, "might as well try it on, babe, because it might just be the only chance you ever get to wear one." he's a hoot, lol. it didn't quite fit and i didn't force it, because let's face it...if it came down to paying for it or leaving a finger...
THEN we went and rented his tux for the ball. they asked us if were were going to PROM!!! well, of course we said no but then explained that we could technically be going to a prom to chaperone, they let blake use a discount scratchy card thing reserved for prom-ers...he got $25 off! so that was lucky. we spent the rest of the evening at home with mom & it was nice to just be.
saturday i woke up feeling gross again but trudged to work anyway. blake dropped me off (and sign that we're an "old couple"...he didn't even try to kiss me goodbye! now i realize i was only going to be gone for 5 hours...but whatever happened to the spark of romance???) about a quarter of the way into my shift, my manager offered to let me go early because i looked terrible. i didn't complain or anything, i was determined to be a trooper and earn $8.25/hour doing it...apparently, i looked that bad. so i got off of work around 1:30 & blake came to get me. since we were in the mall we went ahead and looked for a ball gown & found one!! it's one size too big and had a small hole next to the zipper but i got 10% off and had it altered, so in the end it was the perfect dress. it's a beautiful peacock blue with beading on the halter and the waist...i'll try to post pictures. anywho, then i went home and crashed for a bit. i cooked dinner and it was dynamite! chicken pasta...doesn't sound exciting, but man it was good...so good in fact, that i made sure to write down what i did so next time i have a recipe if i want to make it again. mainly, we just hung out all weekend. it was nice, even if i didn't feel good.
sunday i had a meeting at work (after closing) for two hours and was pleasantly surprised with a paycheck. apparently i wrote down my pay schedule wrong...monday i got a pedicure...it was heaven & i thoroughly enjoyed it. especially my 35 minute leg massage!
i have worked 5 hours at pottery barn both yesterday and today and we leave tomorrow. what does that mean? well, between not being able to stand being in my bedroom for lack of a.c. & having to make a scrapbook of my cherry blossom princess week for my grandmother, i have yet to do laundry or pack. no worries, though, i can wake up and do it in the morning before we leave at 2.
the good news: it is cool enough for me to open my window and chill out my bedroom so i can sleep in it instead of the rec room downstairs. also, daddy is home so everything seems right with the world. ALSO, we leave tomorrow for 14 days of cherry blossom fun...more to come later about that.
p.s. mom was majorly sick on monday night & i totally freaked out! scary times...especially because we were alone in the house and i don't know what i would have done if she actually had passed out like she thought she might. "luckily" she vomited all night instead...at least she was conscious!
gonna go to bed now to let Pride&Prejudice lull me to sleep...i love this movie and have watched it at least 4 times since i got it from netflix. i think i am going to have to buy it with my next paycheck. (i have been minorly obsessed with it since i saw it in the theaters...mr.darcy has bewitched me body and soul and i love...i love...i love him)
