who's got two thumbs and is stuck in atlanta?

got up all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed (who am i kidding? though i was called "bright eyes" by a man on the street a few weeks ago, i don't know if i've ever self-identified or even had the label "bushy-tailed" imposed upon me) to go to hartsfield and engage in one of my favorite past-times, flying standby. just when i got to the zen not-only-am-i-an-adult-and-can-handle-this-but-i-shall-do-so-with-grace-and-elan point, i find out that there are so many NYC flights that have been canceled, they're not doing air tran-U today.

apparently LGA is shut-down due to snow. snow? what is this "snow"? it's been in the 60's here, the idea of snow is positively baffling to me. oh yea, that's right, there are still "seasons" in other parts of the country.
i guess "act of god" and all that, there's nothing i can do? just write my paper that's due for tomorrow and send it in, even though the prof and TA have been anal about emailing papers. um, i'm kinda in a bit of a pickle (or should i say a jam--a peach jam? given where i am) at the moment.
that's what i get for taking an off-the-cuff super SNEAKret trip to atlanta.
i just hope i can get back tomorrow. i mean, if they're canceling flights today, then everyone will be on standby tomorrow. must. not. freak. out.
