can you imagine the scene around the AP newsroom?

"ok, we got this article on the new European anti-obesity charter, but we need a picture. hmmm...what says 'obesity'? Jenkins?"
"uh...cupcakes?"
"too abstract. Amy?"
"how about an enlarged fat cell?"
"not abstract enough. Harry?"
"a giant roll of fat?"
"Harry, that's just plain disgusting."
"what about this boss? i found it in the archives?"
"Sally, that's brilliant! suggestive yet subtle, with the perfect mixture of humor and pathos, and tinged with the carnivalesque! of course--nothing says 'obesity' like a fat man on a little bike!"

seriously though. yikes. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061116/ap_on_he_me/anti_obesity_charter

did you know "The prevalence of obesity in Europe has tripled in the past two decades; half of all adults and 20 percent of all children are overweight." ?

i know i do this in my head at least once a day, but i would like to take this opportunity to thank my parents in a public forum for raising me on tofu and lentils.

so, thanks mom and dad.
