My Eyes, They Hurt. ("Suck It Up, Buttercup")

I just spent approximately three days having a marathon viewing of all 1, 219 strips of Jeph Jacques awesome webcomic 'Questionable Content'.  It's full of snark, foot in mouth syndrome, coffee shop antics and excellent t-shirts. Go forth and read. (you can find the first one at: http://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=1  Don't be put off by the stiffness of the art - the artist gets more confident and skilled as it goes along - just check out the latest one in comparison to see how the art progresses...)

It rocks almost as hard as Hellboy's Right Hand of Doom. Just went to see the big Red One's latest excursion onto the big screen, but it left me a bit underwhelmed. Beautiful visuals and some cracking dialogue, but the first one was better all round.
Hellboy is still my all-time favourite superhero though, and Ron Perlman really is fabulous in the role. (I maintain that Mike Mignola modeled him on Tom Waits.) As far as the comics go, 'The Wolves of St. August' never fails to creep me out; I keep meaning to buy a copy, but then talk myself out of it on the grounds that it'll be one of those things I can afford when I have a full-time job.

And I spent the walk home from the cinema inventing an insanely stupid crossover crack!fic which will probably never make it onto paper, but which involved Hellboy being recruited by the Order of the Phoenix to fight against Voldemort...('Hey, Snakeface! Abracadabra!"   WHOMP!!   "...You might wanna scourgify the carpet there, guys...")
And so it goes.
