For as much as I dislike organized religion, JP II has mostly lived his life as a symbol of the good things that religion can do for people. He advocated things like peace and brotherhood/sisterhood among human beings. While I'm sure he and I would probably disagree on many, many things, I can't deny that he had an extremely positive impact on those who took his word as truth.
It's good to see that a person like that lived a rich, full life. It would've been a terrible tragedy for those who follow him if he had not survived the assassination attempt on him.

He was an amazing man and he did some very powerfully moving things for the world. Hopefully people will put their ignorance towards the old church aside and come to realize this.
Not everyone agrees with everything that people have to say.. not all of our friends share all of our beliefs.. but we can still admire for astonishingly great things that come of someone.
