San Angelo at Christmas

Dec 25, 2007 01:30

While walking around downtown today it was very evident who was from San Angelo and who was just visiting for the holidays. Odd how San Angeloans are so easy to pick out. Ha! Soon I'll be one of those "just visiting for the holidays" people.

It is refreshing when you see someone you really love randomly in town. I was returning a poorly made white chocolate mocha to the baristas at Starbucks when I heard "coffee snob" said from behind me. I turn and it is my cousin Waylon grabbing a coffee as well. Waylon and Jami live in Austin and I adore them both. My cousin's wife Jami is amazing and if I could be more like her I'd be a better person. Seeing family really does give that warm-fuzzy feeling. I love it.

I was making some coffee cake for the morning earlier this evening and I hear a really loud "Ho Ho Ho!" coming from outside our house. My sister comes running from her room after hearing the same thing. Then I hear Anni and Steve come inside laughing. Turns out Steve wanted to create some Holiday cheer for our neighbors. Steve makes a very convincing Santa Claus... realistically more of an Irish Santa Claus I guess. Step-dads are great.
