Nik and I went to the Friends of the Library Annual Book Sale this morning. I never realized so many people would be there. It took us nearly thirty minutes just to find a parking space, and even then, we parked far away from the building it was in and walked. Once inside, there was quite a crowd of book lovers stalking every part of the one-room building. Being the book whores Nik & I are, we pushed our way through the people to the sections that interested us: DIY & crafts for me, teen issues and novels for her, and even some philosophy for MrD. I ended up with the most books (go figure), and I even picked up a couple of large print romance novels for MrsB, my elderly neighbor. I didn't count, but we probably ended up with 30+ books in all for a little over $21, so not a bad deal.
Here's the titles that will be finding their places on my bookshelves:
Astonishing Splashes of Colour - a novel by Clare Morrall, a finialist for The Booker Prize
Mere - a novel by Esta & Linda Spalding
The Twisted Root - a novel by Anne Perry
Look In, Look Up, Look Out! Be the Person You were Meant to Be - by Joyce L. Vedral Ph.D.
Crocheting for the Home - a book about--you guessed it!--Crochet
Room-By-Room Afghans - another crochet book
The Family Creative Workshop - a book part of a creative series published in 1974, has some crochet stuff in it
Simply Christmas - crafts
Martha Stewart's Crafts & Keepsakes for the Holidays - crafts
Better Homes & Gardens Gifts to Make Yourself - crafts
Seasons of Giving - crafts
McCall's Needlework & Crafts, 1964 Library Edition - a compilation of the craft magazine of that year
Life Strategies: Doing What Works-Doing What Matters by Dr. Phil
I've always wanted my own library, and it looks like I'm well on my way with these new additions to what I already had.
Happy Reading!
