College Life
So at the request of Brittany, I am updating my livejournal. I love college. period. the end.
Not really- I mean I love college (other than that thing they call classes which GW doesn't seem to want to get quality professors) but just life in general has been so good that I almost can't believe it. I'm living in a gross old dorm with a big room and the occasional cockroach but my entire floor is so close (Heck yea Sexy Seventh Lafayette). I have the greatest suitemate ever who is becoming one of my best friends. I have all these great people around me plus I joined a sorority. Yes it has been a bit like selling my soul in terms of time constraints but I love it. I honestly love all the girls in the group. Plus its such a great mixture of personalities. I'm at least 5 weeks into school (I already have midterms to think about) and I'm in a sorority and I haven't had a drop of alcohol since I've been at GW. I'm personally pretty shocked by it. What else has happened..... I had the worst/creepiest date ever with a gross grad student who I didn't have the heart to say no to. I met the man of my dreams (if you want details just ask)... I get to explore DC whenever I want. I have a job tutoring kids in the DC area. I do things like go see Dan Rathers talk and have my parents watch me from home as i'm shown in the C-Span audience. I love it. I'm happy
I had a really hard transition to college after having the best summer ever (thank you Presbytery Point crew and Menominee crew) and leaving behind all the Conserve peeps that had been around dorms the entire time i'd been in dorms. I even debated transferring (thought A LOT about that) during that week. Then all of a sudden things changed. Now i cannot tell you how truly satisfied I am at the moment- even if its too expensive, even tho I have a crappy schedule, even though my roommate is psychotic and dumb (anyone else have their roommate allow peopel you ddin't even know to have sex in your bed? didn't think so), even tho i had a rough start. I'm happy
