I think it's kind of interestin how we seem to associate certain things with certain ppl or places or events in our lives. I mean, u walk through the hallway and smell a certain scent, and suddenly, u r taken back to another time where someone important to u smelled like that. or u walk through a store and find somethin that looks just like ( Read more... )

That is what defines us as human. Emotion is something uncontrollable and unexplainable. The memory of those emotions might be odd or feel weird at that moment, but it is bliss to be able to recall such things from an event that happened so long ago. In acting, its called sensory recall. When forced to act out something that holds no bearing on your life, you are taught to think back to when something affected you the same way and draw your inspiration from there. So, essentially, you are still human and we won't have to kill you. :)

So... if you were to forget that memory, would it have ever happened? What would that person mean to you then? Pretty much all of our lives are determined by memory. The way our universe is structured, we only remember what has happened. And even the frailty of this perception comes out when you think about human interactions. Without the memories, there's no proof that anything ever happened. Maybe "moving on" is an inaccurate term. You don't ever really leave the memories, you just add more on top of them. Whether they're retrievable or not after that, that's a question of time.
