I have now seen the entire first season of Merlin. Verdict: AWESOME. More intelligent thoughts may follow, but I don't think anyone should really count on it.

Ooh, good! I'm loading episode #3 right now, and so far I concur!! :D
Oh, Lancelot. I really really like the guy, apart from his thing for Gwen. If that wasn't there, I would love him unreservedly. My sister and I nicknamed him Arthur's "sword-buddy," since we got the feeling that Arthur liked Lancelot, once he proved he was a good warrior, and if Lancelot got to be a knight, then he'd have someone as good as him to talk swords and fighting with, since Merlin is all but useless with physical weapons. And Arthur was so visibly disappointed when he left. So provided that Lancelot does not interfere with my Arthur/Gwen relationship (I think he does in a later episode... but I have no solid proof of that yet), I like him. :)
Really? Over Uther? Hm. I think one of the reasons I liked Morgana is because I wanted to. ;)) I don't have a deep desire to like Uther, although when he has his moments where he shows that he's got a heart for Arthur, and Morgana, when she's not being a pain to him, and Gaius, provided nobody's tried to convince him he's senile, he's not bad. Like the part in Excalibur when Uther and Arthur are talking after Uther's fight with the wraith, and they're joking around "I'll show you footwork!" and all I can think is, "Man, what a happy little family you guys could be if Uther wasn't so scared of magic and eager to lash out at it... so I guess that would mean if Igraine (Ygraine?) hadn't died.) But then there wouldn't really be much of a story. Uther is a lot easier to understand. All his problems boil down to his fear/subsequent hatred of magic. All, or nearly all the times I was annoyed with Morgana was when was when she was whiny and and impatient. My favorite episode with her was #10, because she wasn't really whining at all and she was actually doing stuff. Like I like Robin best when he was being goofy as opposed to vengeful and unreasonable, I like Morgana best when she's doing practical stuff (sneaking food from the palace kitchens to give to starving populace) and not going into fits trying to kill Uther or getting worked up over her magic. I can kind of understand her getting worked up over her magic though. It's the killing Uther that I just want to duct tape her to the wall until she gets her head on straight (side note: When she showed that one guy in #12 her chain scars, the only I could think was, "So that's what Gen's wrists looked like!!"). I don't really want her to go bad, especially not when it could be prevented by the right people guiding her (or so I think so far). Gaius is beginning to annoy me in this respect with his constant "It's nothing. It'll go away. Everything's fine." I guess his character fault is to stand by doing nothing. But back to Uther and Morgana, boiled down to it without my wanting to like Morgana, I like them about equally. I do think that Uther should have to wait at least an hour before actually executing anybody so he can have his second thoughts before it's too late.
I hope you can see it soon! It's really good! :D
Depending on what you want, there are a number of communities that make mood themes (if you don't want to make your own). Mine's by ponchogoblins, but I don't think they've got any Avatar ones.
