I must have been pretty well known for my party throwing, the way people have been responding.

I think the word epic might get tossed around? I mean, not like we're a City filled with tons and tons of event planners, so really good parties are a thing. Maybe even a Thing, capital t.

You should consider a career in boot licking, I'm serious.

So I assume you're coming.

...I tend to skew less sycophantic, but if the whole Watcher thing falls through I'll keep it in mind.

Yes seems like the only appropriate answer here.

What's a Watcher anyway? Is that some sort of security-type job?

Glad you see the light of truth~

It's more like... herding superpowered cats. Angry, wet superpowered cats. Also, the translating dead languages and admin parts. And occasional fighting, but we're more reserve troops.

...I'm 20/20 for truth light? Or something.

Doesn't sound very pleasant to me. I mean, I adore cats, but not superpowered or wet or angry ones. So you speak Latin?

Good, although sometimes you might need to blind yourself.

It's not that bad. Except when the baby Slayers eat the last of my mochi and stick the box back in the freezer for me to find later, then it is that bad. And sapiens nihil affirmat quod non probat. Or, with less showing off, yes. Among others.

...We're talking metaphorical, right? Because I'd like to skip it otherwise.

What's a Slayer? --and I learned that in class, it's pretty fancy.

No, I don't suggest blinding one's eyes, it tends to be problematic in terms of everything.

My sister and cadre. Girls who save the world, in a very very not the whole picture nutshell. And the Sumerian is fancier but no one else outside a tiny community of geeks and people who want to end the world speak it.

It's always best to check.

But what are they saving the world from? --and, is it true that the world will end in 2012?

Hm~ that makes me think you should consider fact checking instead of dealing with wet angry cats.

Vampires, demons. The usual. Also, not because of the Mayan stuff, that's totally a mix of mistranslation and hoax-- but there are a couple apocalypses that may or may not happen that year. Prophecy is way harder than algebra ever was.

It's actually kind of fun. Plus, you know. Terrifying and life threatening and large with the potential for horrors, which is apparently what I need not to be bored in life. Sunnydale does weird things to people.

You're a nice girl and all, but right now it's really hard to believe you.

Sunnydale. Right. I'd tell you to relocate but we're already overpopulated as it is.

It happens. I mean, a lot of people here are from worlds more like mine, but the ones from less demon-y ones have a hard time dealing with the whole concept. I'm used to it.

...And anyway, Sunnydale's kind of not where I live anymore. Where anyone lives, really. Unless they really like giant craters where cities used to be.

What are vampires really like?

Craters aren't very nice. I mean, small towns are bad enough as it is, but you know. Why would the demons go to Sunnydale, though, no offense.
