Hey again. It's been a few days, hasn't it? That Twittering experiment obviously didn't catch anyone's attention LOL, so I don't think I'll be doing that much anymore. I actually think Twitter is more than a little pointless, but it is interesting in it's own way. Forces everyone to be concise, at least.
Anyway, the latest from the bushfires: as you can see from this handy bushfire map there are a couple of fires still burning, mostly in Gippsland near my dad's area. They've now arrested the arsonist thought responsible for the Churchhill fire which is good, but it obviously doesn't reverse the miles and miles of burnt forest and homes down there. It's still weird to turn on the news and see parts of towns like Mirboo and Traralgon and Moe, all of which we visited when we were up there, all burned and smoking. Down here it's smelled like smoke all day and when we went outside before the moon was red (not my pic) which we assume is either smoke coming down from other fires or back-burning in the Dandenongs. I guess you could say we're not out the woods yet. Most of the fires are under control now, but it's scary to think that it can only take one day of extremely hot weather (or one more deranged arsonist) to reignite them. My dad's town is still on alert in case the Gippsland fires start up again and they have to evacuate, because between Morwell and any neighboring town is basically just kilometers of pine forest waiting to go up. I never thought we as a state would see something like this. The Red Cross has managed to raise something like $50 million, so I guess there's that.
Also, my mum is awesome. She came in here at like four minutes past midnight to say happy Valentine's Day and gave me a gift bag with some Cadbury Rose's, the deluxe edition of Duffy's "Rockferry" and a necklace and earrings from Diva. <3 Speaking of Valentine's Day, here is something for all you bored people:
