Hey guys. So as previously mentioned, Obama is prez YAY! I wanted to say first up for anyone wondering why I disabled comments on my last entry, I just didn't want to start any political debates or whatever with anyone. It was out of respect for the fact that while, yes, the Democrats won, there was another party just as big with just as many supporters who lost. And not to mention, I wasn't exactly juping up and down and throwing a pizza party about Obama winning, because even though it's great, he's taking over a country that's been damaged by the last administration and is going through the worst financial recession since the Depression. And he has made a loooot of promises and promised a lot of change. He's going to have to deliver that change and on those promises pretty fast for people not to say he was kidding himself. I just hope he's up for the challenge. Also, PUPPY IN THE WHITE HOUSE WHEE!
lol okay. So while that was going on, the current administration did something so disasterous that people are threatening to leave it's jurisdiction in droves. No, I'm not talking about Bush, I'm talking about LJ redesigning the profile/userinfo page. I seriously don't think there's been an LJ riot like this since they announced ad-support accounts (though, okay, Strikeout comes close). I've actualy been beta-testing the new profile page since I was able to so I've been staring at the thing for a few months and...I actually like it. I thonk it's maybe a bit too dependent on everyone having certain fields filled out, but I don't see the UGLYUGLYHATEHATEUGLY that everyone else is seeing. But my glasses are very thick so I may be blind :D
So as for what I've been doing this week: I've almost hit 16,000 words in my NaNo novel (and it's actually resembling a real book *gasp*), my mum bet on the outsider in the Melbourne Cup which won and so we all got $15, and I finally put my Yuletide sign-up in even though my requests are kinda lame. And this is a boring post because I have to get back to my novel. Oh well. Y'all share your thoughts on the now prez and profile pages! And whatever else has been going on! YES WE CAN!
