I HAVE MY COMPUTER BACK! *throws confetti*

And all my files too! Unfortunately I've had to spend the past few hours slowly re-instaling all our programs because those got the chuck, of course, since it was a windows reinstall. I feel lucky that I got out of this debacle relatively file-deletion free. Unfortunately though I did lose all of my Photoshop brushes bar the defaults. Can you guys please link me to your favourites?

Also, while I am tres grateful to the computer guy for backing up all my files, I can't help but feel slightly embarrassed. Particularly since when this comp died I'd just finished writing drabbles for the Porn Battle, which were of course all sitting in a folder labelled "PORN BATTLE!!!" right there on my desktop. lol.

Whoops.

1. What are your reasons for having a LJ?
In 2005 I started lurking around LJ and got into icon making pretty soon after that. I used to post them on CU (this old anthony callea forum where I met like half my current f-list), did requests and I really needed one central place to put them, so I signed up to LJ. The fact that a lot of people I knew also had LJs was a pretty big influence too. Eventually, when CU started to change a bit, I began doing non-icon posts and eventually I created _drivingblind for my icons. LJ has been a big part of my life ever since, especially with the f-list I have now. I love the fact that I have people on here who would genuinely care if something happened to me no matter what happens, and that I can come on here and talk about TV or school or monkeys and someone will read it. I'm also pretty choosy about who I add but I generally add everyone who adds me, unless they are creepy people, which has happened lol. I'm probably pretty unique in that since I signed up almost three years ago I've had the same username and a lot of the same friends, and that as some of you will know I detest Myspace and use my LJ for everything instead. My LJ is probably the best place to keep up to date with what's going on with me. And as David said, it's great to have a written account of everything that's happened to me in the past few years. Some of my old entries were so melodramatic lol.

2. What do you do before bedtime?
Get into my pajamas if I'm not already and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth, cleanse/get all my make-up off and moisturize. Then I'll usually wash my hands with nice soap and put cocoa butter on them, and get into bed. Then I might light my lavender candle, which is my before-bed candle, and read a bit before I sleep. Generally the reading is something for school, one my old Babysitter's Club books, or a magazine. Teen Vogue or something.

3. What will your dream wedding be like?
Alternative. I'd love it to be outside and a small sort of affair. My dream dream wedding would be in the garden of the house I grew up in. When you come out the back door of my old house, the patio has a big staircase going down to the garden which has a large area of open lawn surrounded by plants, and I've always wanted to go back and get married there. If I ever say yes to a proposal the first thing I'm doing is going to my old house and seeing if the owners would let me borrow their yard for a day.

4. What is the city of your dreams and why?
Sayreville, New Jersey. Jon Bon Jovi grew up there. No, I'm kidding, I have a lot of cities worldwide I want to go to and there's no one that really stands out. I would love one day to go to South America, though. It fascinates me. And of course one day I’m going to see a Jovi hometown show. Goes without saying.

5. Are you an introvert or extrovert?
I'm an introvert, but I'm pretty open. I'll tell anyone anything and I'm not shy about my past or anything like that. And as time goes on I'm getting less and less introverted, especially now that I'm out of high school. So both, really.

6. What current item of consumer technology would you love to have at this moment?
I'm such a tech nerd, so lots lol. But really the only thing I want, and what would kind of come in handy, is an Eee PC, which is like a teeny tiny Linux-based subnotebook computer. My current laptop weighs just under 3kg and though it's great to have a computer I can take on holidays, I can't really take it out and about much, especially as I don't drive (it was a gift, obviously, cause I wouldn't have chosen one that heavy haha). The Eee PC is meant to be halfway between a laptop and a PDA and assuming typing isn't a complete nuisance it would be a godsend to have, especially when I'm on the train going into TAFE. I'm actually hoping to get one in the next year or so as they retail for under $600 now. I've messed with Linux before and I'm excited about using it again.

7. Do you trust easily?
Yah. I'm not like one of those super-trusting people easily duped by pyramid scams but I am trusting. And contrary to popular opinion I have indeed been burned by people before, including my father and the dude I was half in love with. I just realize that not everyone is like them and I would be closing myself off from a lot of people if I stopped trusting because of a couple of experiences.

8. If the person you secretly like is already attached, what would you do?
Generally I would try and move on, but I found myself in this exact situation when I was 13 and I liked the guy for the next four/five years, through the end of that relationship and the start and end of two more lol. So moving on is often more easily said then done.

9. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
I don't like thinking about things that make me unhappy. Well, being kicked out of my novel class made me unhappy but I kind of expected it.

10. What is your best quality?
I am a good listener, apparently. In real life and online I do a lot of listening to people's problems and trying to help them. Also I think I'm very bright and I always try to be positive about things. But I'd probably have to ask you guys this, cause I dunno, lol.

11. Is being tagged fun?
Yes. Yes it is. Thank you David ;D

12. How do you see yourself?
I'm strange lol. With my mum being sick for a lot of my teenage years I've become quite independent, in that I'd probably have no problem living on my own and can cook for a few people, clean, wash etc. I had to grow up quickly, especially emotionally. I don't think I'm really dependent, but some people have a problem with the fact that my mum is best friend and that I do a lot of things with her, and that my brother is one of my favorite people despite everything he's gone through (depression, psychosis, hospital mental health ward etc). The three of us have been our own little family without my father for a long time and we're all very close. Along with that I don't drink or go out at night much though my mum and I do a lot of random crazy things, like flying across the country for a Bon Jovi show lol. And I do have friends, of course, both offline and online, who I love and have fun with. So I'm a lot of things, really. I really do think I'm fantastic though, and that I have a lot to offer even if some people don't think so.

13. Who are currently the most important people to you?
My family and my friends.

14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
David, still the only dude on my f-list, is so selfless and passionate about everything he does. And he works with kids and can sing and does a lot of things girls probably secretly swoon over, haha. And if a show exists David has probably heard of it and given it a try. He is awesome. And also my boss.

15. Would you rather be single and rich or married but poor?
I hope I would be happily married and poor. Like it would kind of suck if it was an unhappy marriage and we were living in a box. But probably married and poor.

16. How many children do you want to have, if any?
I have no idea. I feel like this is a strange question to put to any 19 year old lol.

17. What's better, to give or to receive?
Giving. I always feel better about giving them receiving. Plus when I give I often give handmade thingies and people tend to like them, so.

18. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, who would you pick?
The one I had more of a chance with or who would treat me better, I suppose. The one I was more in love with!

19. What would you do if you (or your girlfriend) became pregnant unexpectedly?
I'd see what my circumstances were, and what his circumstances were, I guess. I don't want to offend anyone with my answer here LOL. I feel as though this question could lead me right into an abortion debate so NEXT QUESTION PLZ.

20. What were your parents going to name you if you'd been born the opposite sex?
My dad got the job of naming me and he picked my name out of the paper (after Princess Charlotte of Monaco). So I assume I would have been called whatever boy's name was in the paper.

I tag everyone, idk. Especially you Steph. Also this song always makes me feel all fuzzy and adorable. I WANT A BEN LEE.

ETA: I can't believe they cancelled Stargate Atlantis. *cries* WHYYYY?
