Baaaack. Camp was pretty shiny. It was pretty pointless educationally considering we barely had enough time to do anything - the drive to Shepparton took us around four and a half hours each way. But it was pretty awesome in that it was basically just my German class hanging out. There was a poker game, pizza, chocolate cake, a stampede of cows, late night wanderings, museums, graveyards, bunk beds, pool, busking, German, Australia's best vanilla slices and the substitution of energy drinks for alcohol. Oh, and I would go so far as to say kilos of lollies, chocolate and junk food was shared and consumed amongst us. We're all a pretty close-knit group, so it was a lot of fun.
Speaking of camp, I brought along Twilight and started reading it. My thoughts on it so far are summed up in the comment I made
here (on
lily_268's journal). It's a pretty good book and probably worth reading, but it does have it's flaws. I'm not sure I'm going to be a massive fan of it, but for some reason it's super intriguing, even hypnotizing. There are aspects in it I really don't like but I still want to keep reading it. It's weird.
Otherwise: If you're a NaNoer or are into NaNo or whatever whatever, they're having a summer sale on a bunch of items in the
store. They're also selling the 06 black typewriter posters for a limited time which are beautiful, but they're $35USD which is a bit much for me. I'm probably going to grab the other poster though, along with the No Plot kit just for fun. There's also t-shirts going cheap, and all money goes to funding this year's NaNo and the Young Writer's Program.
As you can tell there is minimal linkage here considering my dial-upper-ness, but for now I can link you to ONTD's post on
the 50 craziest celebrity baby names. Along with your usual mentions of the Geldof clan and Moon Unit Zappa, we also have Audio Science, Kyd, Pilot Inspektor and my favourite - MOXIE CRIMEFIGHTER!!! ...those poor children. Somebody needs to name their kid Captain Planet.
I hate Supre (read: teenybopper clothing store). I think that even those that can fit Supre clothes could do better than shopping there. But I really want to buy the "It's All About House" they're selling and write "It could be lupus" on the back, and then wear it. I am strange. There may some deeper meaning to those shirts that I'm missing out on, but then again this is Supre we're talking about here.
This is suitably enough rambling for one entry, so adios. Seeing The Simpsons Movie tonight!
