So, apparently July is a busy month for birthdays in LJ land, at least for my here f-list. alongdecemberxo, lily_268, fridayschild713 and jessamika (hi Jess!) all have birthdays, and if you are one of those people you may or may not have something pop up in your LJ profile in your birthday. For the sake of surprise I will say no more.
Some personal type things, just to update you all:
- Script Frenzy, I'm up to 15,360 at this very second. I have to top 16k tonight, 17k tomorrow and so on to be a 20k winner by Friday, or at the latest Saturday. Due to timezones I probably have Sunday as well, but I don't want to chance missing the deadline. It's not very clear on the Screnzy site which timezone the site clock follows.
- On Wednesday afternoon, I'm heading into the city with the rest of my year level to see the play "Inheritance" at Melbourne Uni (which is, coincidentally, thelockerboy's school). So, uh, anyone who goes into the city regularly, if you see a big hoard of red-jumpered teens wandering around on Wednesday, that'd be us.
- I totally wrote some sort of weird original hospital romance in Jane Austen-esque prose last night, as a result of watching too much House and needing a 'creative piece' to hand in for English. As I am unoriginal my lead is a immunologist (like Cameron) in love with an oncologist (like Wilson), though the fact they're talkin' like it's 1882 means they are neither. Also, see icon. If you remember the days (and I'm talking 2004-ish) when I used to write House fic, you have a great memory.
- In July, I'm part of a super sekrit multifandom fic project which I am not at liberty to talk about. Well, I might be able to, but I won't reveal the specifics for purposes of suspense. Just be aware that I basically have to begin on that the minute I finish typing "THE END" into my script. The fic in question will probably be Heroes. I KNOW, SHOCK RIGHT.
- Who's siked/syked/psyched for Harry Potter 5 and 7 respectively? Hell, I'm even excited, and I'm not even a HP fan. Me and my friends Laura, Lauren and Heather are probably seeing the movie on opening day, and then I assume Heather and I will be doing the whole in-line-before-Borders-is-even-open thing for the book. I just felt I needed to inform all you Potter fanatics that I totally have my feet in the water of this fandom purely by association.
And because I obviously cannot get through a post without linking something or rather: some new icons are up at _drivingblind and this would be the most amusing Heroes related ONTD post I've seen in a while: Jack Coleman clears up misleading image. That's it. Please go no further with this nonsense. LMAO.
EDIT: A techy reminder to self because I'm almost certainly going to forget otherwise - go and look at laptop accessories! Non-ugly bag, USB mouse to give the touchpad a break every once in a while. Whatever else is out there. Any of you laptop-enabled peeps have any suggestions/essentials?
