it's just my old tattoo
Hello! I have been totally procrastinating from updating this thing. Mainly because it seems everytime I update now I have to also update you on . Here is the very short version: on Friday I got a call from the doctor while Mum was out saying she had to call back IMMEDIATELY, as she needed some "urgent treatment". (Yeah, that freaked me out. Mum's had low blood cell count in the past and they took blood cultures last time she was in the ER, so I ran all the way to where Mum was shopping going "I pray it's not leukemia" under my breath. And I don't even pray). We called back from a pay-phone and the doctor said he had examined her x-rays, found another problem and thus she needed some preventative surgery ASAP, which turned out to be the next day. Basically they stuck a tube in her, sent her home and in about a month she goes back and they take the tube out. FUN. She's still recovering right now so I'm cooking - dinner tonight was this with a side of this - and taking care of the house, which is fine because, and this brings me to point B - SCHOOL IS FINISHED. I could seriously not be more happy about that. It wouldn't be emotionally possible.
Also, this week is amazing, because it's the week the new Bon Jovi album lands as well as Time Traveler's Wife. I am far too excited for both of those, you have no idea, especially after lasamy posted this and after seeing huge TTW posters up at the cinema. I am such a sap, eh.
Anyway, fandom stuff cause it's been a while:
- Flashforward: No one told me Navi Rawat pops up as girlfriend's girlfriend! I thought the fact that Janis is gay was handled nicely and was a nice twist, but the being unlikely to conceive post-accident was a bit overly convenient. This is also one of those situations where bisexuality apparently doesn't exist, because if she's with a women she MUST be gay and never want to sleep with a man ever. I find it sad she hasn't come out at work yet, but more gay characters on mainstream TV is obviously a good thing. I like that they let us know her character first before revealing it. Step in the right direction, at least?
- Glee: Will doesn't really sing Thong Song to Emma, does he? Really? So much secondhand embarrassment already.
- Idol, only because I love charting it's slow demise: Some guy quit. Also Wes Carr played a show and only two people showed up. I had this theory that Channel Ten is holding onto this with everything they've got purely because they no longer have Big Brother (and I believe after BB got axed they had something like 40 hours of Australian-produced programming a week to fill) and not because it makes any ratings or financial sense as a show anymore, and I'm starting to think I'm right. This show is dead.
- Tennis: TIMEZONES. THEY KILL ME. Tonight Stan, Roger and Gonzo are playing one after the other in Basel alone (we won't mention all the good matches in Valencia). That will start at 4am for me and take me to about 8 or 9. So the dilemma is, do I sleep and get up for it, or stay up and get delirious? I tried the former yesterday but I wound up sleeping through two alarms and missing Nole lol. I don't know, I'll see how long I can stay up tonight. I'll hang on twitter and annoy people. Though I think I do that anyway!
Finally, another flist addition - welcome absolutelybatty! And I'm going to see who's on MSN and try to write some more. (ETA: Consession - I love how I casually say "see who's on MSN" when I know the answer is either going to be nobody, or Kellie lol. Oh me). Ciao.
