10 days without gas & we are out of here....
I wanted to come by and update. Monday we were suppose to have our gas back on but we didn't and we still don't. The plumber told me when they started all the work in the house that they would need to call an inspector after they finished their work. From there we would call the gas co. to get our gas back on. WELL on Monday the plumber calls and says that the guys will be here to finish up one more thing and to call the gas co. when they get here. I asked him about the the state inspection and he said we don't need it that he wrote up an affidavit and for me to give to the gas co. when they get here and that it will be ok. I called the gas co. to come out they were not going to be here till Tues. but I asked if it could possible be today (Monday) she put me on hold and got me squeezed in. The gas co. showed up at around 3ish came in to see what the plumbers got done. He asked me if they altered pipes which they did...I told him that I had some papers to give to him..he didn't even want to see the papers because he said that the state should have came before him. He checked the pipes in one of the rooms where they had to run it across the room and he told me that they pipes were to high above that the state wouldn't pass it because everytime you stepped the whole water heater and wall heater moved. He told me that in order for things to get done the right way he's going to have to pull the WHOLE meter I said ok. He left and took the gas meter with him. I got on the phone right away with the plumber VERY upset asking him why he did that...and didn't call the state like he new he had to do. He apologized to me and said that he was just trying to do the right thing for everyone. I don't know what kind of excuse that was but it answered my question that they were trying to get around something or someone which I would assume the state. Instead of doing the RIGHT thing we are having to suffer for even longer now. He supposly is trying to get a hold of the state which he says wont answer his emails/calls. Then Monday night we talk to the landlord and we are very upset and he tells us that it's no longer in his hands that he hired who he had to and that he no longer has anything to do with it till the plumbers get it done and do what they have to. So apparently to bad for us!
On Tuesday I am here waiting in the cold to see if the state comes...which we have no idea when they are going to come because we are put on a list and who knows how long it is or how long it will be it's just a waiting game. I can't even stay somewhere else and they will call me they said I have to just be here. So the plumbers son and his worker show up. I don't know why but I explained to him what happened with the meter and I told him what the gas co. said about the pipes he said that they will just wait to see what the state inspector says about it. SO if the state doesn't like the way it's done he will not approve it and we will not get gas for even longer. So yesterday noone shows up or calls.
Today I'am packing and tomorrow I will be looking for another place to live and I hope to be out of here by the end of the month.
