I just got back from Ikea. That place is like heaven & hell combined. I love it. I have a feeling that my stuff isn't going to match as well as it does in my head haha. In a bit my brother isgoing to help me pick up a dresser I found on craigslist. I hope it fits into my little Hyundai ( Read more... )

That is gorgeous!
I saw you on vintagehair and I love all of your styles.
I've been kind of experimenting with vintage hair, since getting my hair chopped. Mind if I add you? :)

pardon the out-of-the-blue commentage, but i was browsing ugly_crap and stumbled upon your journal (cause i liked yr hair in your icon.)

what kind of curlers are those? my hair is medium length-ish for the first time after about a decade of really short hair, and i've always wanted to be able to do the fingerwave thing to it. :)

so, i just realized that the "read more" link says what kinda rollers they are. i feel dumb now. hah.

okay, change question to-- where can one find those? (yes, i know i can google + find, but i'm wondering if any stores sell 'em in real life. i don't believe i've ever seen those at a Sally's or any store with hair stuff in my area.)

Don't worry about it, this is mainly a hair how-to journal anyways :) I got mine from my grandma, they used to be really popular in the late 80s early 90s (Jesus you should see the suggested styles in the booklet D:). The are called Lock'N'Rollers, and I believe you can find them easily on Ebay, and I see them pretty often in thrift stores. I love them! You really recommend buying them, even just for regular ol curls :)
Anyways, thank you for the compliments, and do let me know if you have any more questions once you have a set :D

hello! i found you through newestwrinkle and your journal is lovely! i've added you:D.

also, hope you don't mind another how-to question! i just cut my hair to a short bob length and would love to figure out how to get great finger-waves. i know that just using curlers doesn't necessarily make it look like a classic fingerwave, is there a trick to it? (or if you have a tutorial post somewhere, that'd be amazing!)

Why thank you, I'll add you back :)

It's on my agenda to create a tutorial for Marcel waving as soon as I have the time. I have an old video on Youtube but it's shit haha.

In the mean time if you want to play around with other ways of achieving fingerwaves try pin curls! Once you get the hang of it it's a piece of cake :)
