snowy volcanoes and libraries to sleep in

haha so you thought i would never return!! I am in San Francisco. I am trying to get myself a SK ticket for tomorrow nite's show and a local guy said he can sell me one tomorrow!!! Yay. Anyway Portland was cool, Seattle was pretty good, especially seeing YYY (and going to a dyke bar which actually was a pretty lame bar compared to what we have in Melbourne...) but SF is jsut the besstest. I havnet actually seen much of it yet, just the Golden Gate Bridge obscured by fog as the train pulled in. By the way, it was a 23 hour train ride and I only slept 3 or so hours so I'm mega-delerious! I am creating a travel blog as an alternative to this thing. I'm so excited to be here!!!!!!! I am going to go out and explore tomorrow.

I have been staying at all HI-hostels in Vancouver and the above-mentioned places. They don't allow you to drink and lack atmosphere (some are kinda like being in a library and make you want to slit yr wristss) but tonite I have chekced into the Green Tortoise next to all teh seedy strip joints and they had a free dinner and I met way cool people and it is awesome! IN Portland we all turned into pirates..... It was the theme. Stayed in a lovely old house which had an attic and a garden and an eco-roof! the houses and neighrbourhoods in Portland are so beautiful and the city is cool too. Everyone I met there were Amerian girls who were wanting to live there. We went out to see a band called "I could lick every sonofabitch in the house" and Dead Moon. It was fun and I tried some microbrews for the first time, which were nice. I also bought fork earrings with this other girl who also bought fork earrings. THe Portland SAturday market was way cool and there was even a dog convention. It was sooo cold in Canada, and has been getting warmer the more southerly I head down the US coast. But soon I'm heading to Yukon and Alaska!!! Land of the midnight sun!

I still can't belive there are snow-covered active volcanoes that people snowboard on in the PACIFIc Northwest. You can only see Mt Rainier 90 days out of the entire year. I'm going to bed, i desire sleep...
