Deadward and I have always been lizard lovers.I had two green iguanas in my early adult years that were a gift from an ex.One grew to be pretty large and I took him out with me if I went to get coffee or to the store.He was protective and if someone came near me he didn't know he'd cock his tail back,ready to whip.The only person he did whip was my brother,whom he hated.David had a Tokay Gecko when I met him,though it escaped one day and we never found him.A few weeks ago,I opened the front door to get the mail and there was a huge gecko attached to it.I yelled for Ewan to grab a container,but by the time he found one,it was gone.Last night,David was turning on the sprinklers and left the door open.A few minutes later Ewan came in and said "I have a GIFT for you!!!"There in his hand was a three inch baby pink gecko.He found it crawling around in the library.It was so young,you could still see through it.I put it in a bowl with a collander lid and started looking for ants to feed it.We named it Xray. I went out to turn off the sprinklers and there was a colony of pink geckos eating insects on my roof.We took Xray out and turned him loose with his clan.I figured they can take better care of him than we can.
We are taking Ewan to Petsmart today to possibly buy a leopard gecko.If we have pink geckos in abundance out here,thats exciting and much better than having to use pesticides.
