ya I'm still alive!
now to the rant... if you don't want to read, move on, no worries. but due warning, there will be swearing.
so I've been working at Alderney Landing this weekend for the festival which is going on there. no problem. I'm the "dressingroom misstress" or "talent hospitality agent" or whatever the fuck you want to call me. it's fun, I get to be back stage with the artists, and if I want to go out and listen to the music I can, cuz there's always time. but I can just chill and whatnot inside when the weather's bad... blah blah it's good. but today just really bugged me.
the music stopped around 12:45, not too bad since they went on about 5-10 minutes late and they were supposed be done at 12:30. cool. plus all the talent tonight, and last night for that matter were really nice and friendly...though tonight maybe a little too much so. old men checking me out and trying to feel me up... not so hot!
so, just before 2am the building alarm starts going off as if it's setting iteslf, and I go over to the pannel that's by me and it says something to the effect of "not ready" or "delayed" it was not saying arming. so anyway, I think not too much of it, figuring that it's just an automaitc check but not actually arming since we're still there and everyone is still parting hard and going. (please note, I've never been told a time to kick them out, they've just usally left after a reasonable amount of time after the show, like 30-45 minutes) so Lynn comes over, more or less my boss, and she tells me they HAD armed the building because they didn't think anyone was still there! oh yes! that means that they didn't think to notice that they hadn't seen me in a while, nor the fact that no one did the appropriate building check to ensure that they wouldn't lock anyone in!!! so now, they're trying ot kick everyone out and I had to leave work to do tomorrow, since they all wanted to leave (including me, but still! my work wasn't done, because they basically forgot about us, and thought that someone else had remembered... but when everyone does that no one knows anything! FUCK!!!!
so I finally get home, Lynn was nice enough to give a drive, and I'm crashing at mom and dad'd since it's in Dartmouth too and just easier, and my aunt and cousin are staying as well for a few days, no problem. both last night and tonight I made it clear that I might not stay, but time would tell. both nights I come over expecting to crash on the couch by the TV and both nights I've come to find it already occupied by my aunt who has left me, both nights, with the pre-made pull out couch!! what the fuck! I'm 23 years old this week and quite frankly don't sleep much once there's light in the room, not to mention I'll be back AT work tomorrow at 10:30-ish, so I aint sleeping in! but I WAS expecting to be able to come home and watch some tv before sleeping, since i'm not particularily tired just yet, and since I had talked ot my aunt today before going to work, she had said she was sleeping there... and yet!!!! I'm not watching tv right now. since I figured I could do that to pass some time before I grew tired, I left my book at work. thye were rushing me out so I didn't bring it, thinking I wouldn't need it. now i have nothing; only time and energy, and I have to be up in about 5-6 hours... I should sleep... but I wanted to watch something, anything!!!! damn it!
so two nights without Lenny. two nights without relaxing with the tv. now a night without anything to stimulate me or anyone to talk to and rant to about it all because it's 2:40 in the fucking morning! and like I wish I was, everyone is fast asleep! grr...
grr... another one for good measure.
well this helped a bit, so I'm going to wander away now and hopefully sleep. sorry there was no cut for this monstrosity, but I don't remember right now how to do it and I don't care enough to look it up. so deal with it.
