SIGNS THAT THINGS ARE GOING WELL:
so we're talking about freshmen year and josh tells me that he had a crush on me then. which i was unaware of and didn't really believe him because he never really seemed interested in me then. so in an attempt to prove this,
josh tells me, "i remember when we were in seminar together and you had one of those funny state shirts and some white skirt on and i was just like goooooooood lord."
i say, "oh yeah, i still have both of those things. i haven't worn them in a long time. begeny didn't want me to wear them. in fact, some guy came up to him and told him he looked up my skirt in gen psych and instead of getting mad at him, begeny told me to stop wearing short skirts. he also hated that shirt. he told me he didn't think it was funny and was embarrassed of my sense of humor."
josh: "what the hell? i mean yes i can understand a guy being uncomfortable with other guys looking at their girlfriend in a short skirt. and i can understand the impulse to tell her she can't wear things like that. but under no circumstances do you tell a girl not to wear something unless it's something like sweatpants to a fancy dinner with your family. even if you feel that way, you shut the hell up cause that is not your place to tell someone what to do. besides, if you look fine in something, i'd just think, 'that's right. she's fine. and you can't touch her, but i sure as hell can.' he probably told you what you wore was against feminism, didn't he?"
me: "yeah."
josh: "yeah, see, that's BULLSHIT because telling your significant other what they can and cannot do is pretty much 'things against feminism 101'"
i've always wondered why guys don't do that. i mean when i'm dating a guy that other girls think are hot, i take it as a compliment.
yaaaaaaaay for men that understand feminism. yay.
