Been working on this one since September-ish, off and on. Not perfect, but I like it!
Their hate crosses the bounds of time and space!
I gained a lot of technical know-how through doing it, though obviously I still have a lot to learn. It's the first time I've used loops so extensively; all the guitars and drums are loops (specifically, the set of Apple loops that comes free with Garageband). For drum fills I sifted through and cut out pieces of loops. There were separate, single hi-hat, crash cymbal, and kick drum hits as well, which I used in a few places.
I'm proudest of the male vocal, which is my voice artificially lowered a major third. I think it sounds almost convincingly like a real tenor, if a highly processed one. It was a good exercise in controlling my voice; I had to keep a really bright, almost nasal tone while I was singing it in order for it to sound right after being lowered.
The female vocal at the end could be a lot better, but I didn't have very good mic options, so I had to balance holding back so as not to overload the mic with being able to actually hit the notes. Modulating to a different key was made more difficult than it was worth by the guitar loop. Ah well.
So that's one more project out of the way! Hooray!
