the year that wasn't

The year in fic wasn't, not really. For the first half of the year, I was gently putting SGA to rest while looking around for a new fannish home. For the second half of the year, real life took precedence.

SGA
* FOD: Captain Radner as DADT dies its slow death.
* Prep Work: Lorne's team, from the bottom up.
* Coda: Lorne and Sheppard, at the end, which is also at the beginning.

X-Men: First Class
* Recommence: Charles Xavier and the mess the movie (and Erik) left behind.
* Der Onheib: Erik Lehnsherr and the art of memory.
* and a couple of tidbits from the 40k+-word outline I really need someone to kick me to reopen.

I'm not going to bother with the fic evaluation meme; I don't have enough to qualify. As for the other meme...

Best (new) Movie: The Artist and A Separation.

As far as the blockbusters go, I liked all three Marvel summer offerings for different reasons.

New TV Show: Once Upon a Time, but partially because I haven't had a chance to catch most of the new cable stuff and I loved Fables.

I'm also slowly working my way through Detroit 187 on Netflix, another show that I didn't pay attention to when it was on because I thought it was something else and now find out I missed a good thing.

And, of course, I am getting 'humongous big' entertainment from HBO's 24/7: Flyers/Rangers.
