The story's been done since Saturday night and I'm still a little... I wrote 50K words in a little more than a week. I did pretty much nothing else. I'm still recovering, I guess. I'd love to write something short and silly (for my values of silly), but the gas tank is sadly empty. And it's Amnesty time at
sga_flashfic, too.
I am apparently going to be stuck in the office all day on Christmas Eve. Nobody will be here, no work will get done, there will be no festivities, and I won't get to go home early, so I am tentatively planning a mini-solicitation for entertainment. Presumably I will be in writing form by then.
For those interested,
Generation Kill (the book) is on sale at Amazon for $6. Quite worth reading. I thought the HBO adaptation was mostly excellent, for the record. The DVD will be out in time for presents, too, but HBO sets are always bloody expensive. My plan is to rent the 'extras' disc from Netflix and then buy the whole thing once the 'used' sets are available for a reasonable rate.
Sean Avery is an attention-craving ass, which is not news, but he's an attention-craving ass who has gone from the top two media markets to one lower down on the celebrity scale and you could almost see something like this coming. I thought Dallas was too small for his ego back in July...
Speaking of delusional types, Ahmadinejad is saying that
