That Which Is Always Present (3/4)

First exercise for the reader: Suggest a title. Because this is the penultimate part and I'm singularly failing at nominalism.

Part One: Elizabeth
Part Two: John

Part Three: Rodney )

Just when I was going to get back to work, you post!

I love this so much! Rodney and not!Ford's interaction was fantastic.

¬Ford gave him a wry grin, one that would have looked too old on their Ford. "Doesn't it always?"

Poor guy. ::wibbles::

(and John totally got his degree from a Cracker Jack box. :-))

I don't have Smitty to distract anymore. You're geographically close enough to where she was so that I don't even have to adjust the radar.

I'm glad you liked. :)

Good point, her office was only about 4 blocks away. (also, I really didn't want to get back to work. :-))

*sigh* I wish I could write Rodney half as well as you do. Bravo!

Also, and this might not be a compliment, I'm not sure... I like your stuff, in small part, because you remember Heightmeyer. After Radek and Chuck, she's my favorite background character, so it tickles me to no ends everytime you invoke her name. :)

Hey, I thrill to background characters, if the dozens I've made up haven't clued you in. :)

thanks.

How about "familiar strangers?"

Really enjoying this. One of the very best aspects of really good OCs is the ability to see the canon characters from within the reality rather than from outside it... if that makes sense. Here you are giving us canon characters that aren't and providing the same kind of compare and contrast to good effect.... if that makes sense. Very nice.

That was lovely. Ford, similar but not the same and Rodney feeling the loss of his friend. I really liked Rodney in this one and the fact that they were friends enough, and Rodney was attentive enough to have Ford's interest occur to him and be of use was really nice. I am really looking forward to Teyla since it seems she's dead in their reallity and so the reactions would be a little reversed. Thank you for some really great character interactions.

Some things you simply pick up by osmosis, even if you're as clueless as Rodney can sometimes be. He *knows* Ford, even if he didn't recognize the one who kidnapped him.

Thank you for the comment. :)
