I think my penance for having a really good week of flute practice last week is being a pathetic loser this week. Seriously, my lesson is tomorrow, and I've only practiced twice, and neither session was particularly productive. My only hope is to really get something done tomorrow morning (and call my accompanist...I keep forgetting...) so that I don't look like an idiot at my lesson. I'm just lucky that Gary is a total softie...I can think of some other professors in the department (or one in particular) who would rip me a new one if they knew my wretched practice habits. You'd think it would be easier in the summer, when you have less going on...you don't have school and homework and such clogging up your schedule. But no, it just means it's that much easier to be lazy. What did I do today instead of practice? That's right, I went shopping with my mom and then watched four episodes of Gilmore Girls. I swear, this week I'm going to do better.
Edit: Did I mention that I got a scholarship? My school doesn't love me, despite the fact that I wrote them a lovely essay and I have excellent grades and all that jazz, but my credit union does love me, because they gave me a thousand dollars. Hooray! They even put my picture in the paper. I felt very special. I hate paying for school. Writing that check each semester...watching my bank account drop...at least I live at home, or I'd be in deep trouble.
