A very Harry post

This is the first time since 2001 that I won’t be seeing a HP movie at a midnight showing or the day it is released. I find that sad. I am also a little freaked out that I have been in this fandom for 10 years now. I wish that I had a HP thing that fit me well other then my scarf so I could wear it tomorrow. It is odd to know that a fandom has been a big part of your life for so long. I know that it’s “just books” but I started reading them the year I graduated middle school. I met some of my best friends through Harry Potter. When I graduated collage with my undergrad the last book came out. That is a lot of growing and changing that happened with Harry Potter. I kinda feel like I’ve grown up with the character.
If the creepy guy would leave the library I could play wizardrock. Leave creepy guy, leave. Not just becuase then wizardrock could be played but becuase you are essentally creepy. I want the creepy gone. You have been here…being creepy on a computer for almost 2 hours now. Leave. *glares but creepy guy does NOT leave*All he does is sigh/cough loudly.
So I have been looking at Hot Topic HP merch online and am angry (as I am EVERY time they put out HP merch) that I am a Hufflepuff in a Gryffindore/Slytherin dominated world. There are many of us who identify ourselves as Hufflepuffs or Ravenclaws. Where’s my reversible hoodie? Where’s a Ravenclaw fitted tee? This really gets me mad…every time. Granted I only really look at Hot Topic when Harry Potter stuff comes out so maybe I don’t pay enough to the store to get a vote but come on people, seriously? The other two houses get NOTHING?
I need to see if I can find any HP crafts for the kids to do here tomorrow. I will force Harry Potterness on them. Bwahaha. If I could find the copies of the books that the computer says we have (I have a feeling they were borrowed and never returned) I would display them. I at least know where Qudditch Through the Ages it shall be put in the front somewhere. Maybe I’ll bring MINE in for the night tomorrow. I feel bad that I won’t let them take any home but I can’t really afford to have my books ALL taken at the moment. Before I leave this place I shall get it a pretty boxed set of HP books. Then the children shall be able to take them home. I want Pince’s warning put in ALL of them. “ A warning: if you rip, tear, shred, bend. fold, deface, disfigure, smear, smudge, throw, drop, or in any other manner damage, mistreat, or show lack of respect towards this book, the consequences will be as awful as it is in my power to make them.” *smiles* Off to find crafts for them tomorrow.
Hope everyone who sees the movie tonight LOVES it!

fandom, hp
