i visited my little brother in new york early in the month.
i really can't remember the last time i've spent that much time with him. as it is with most siblings growing up, i didn't mind seeing him for only portions of time in between hanging out with our respective friends, going to our respective schools, being involved in our respective activities, attending our respective churches...
but as distance grew, so did our appreciation for each other. he lives in new york now, pursuing his acting career. it's very rare that we talk -- i mean really talk -- but those five days together gave us a chance to connect, be completely candid with each other, and pray together. growing up in sibling animosity, telling my brothers i love them is still kind of a new thing, but it's one of the most wonderful new things that's come about in the past few years.
