Drawing meme - day 2

And this time I mean it! Let's see if I can get this back on track without breaking any more SD cards.

I was working at the playground on Saturday and vaguely trying to encourage some kind of spring-related art activity, when S. decided to cut up lots of small pieces of paper and instructed me to stick them all over my picture and colour them in. "I can still see gaps," she said whenever I thought I'd finished, so the plant ended up with a surprising number of leaves. It's a great improvement on my original mimsy flower.

Oh, the playground, it is so strange and funny! One of the managers has decided we should raise our profile by yarn bombing the entire place on April 1st. I don't know what good that will do, but it's better than not doing anything, so I've employed all the Cubs to make pompoms and am attempting to knit as many massive scarves as possible in a month. Some of my friends are donating woolly things and bunting, which made me sniffle a bit when I found out.

Old picture - a nautilus! I don't like most aquatic creatures, but these guys made it into my good books after I watched a documentary where a nautilus was swimming around backwards and bumping into things. I drew this when I was in New York for work and everyone hated me (possibly!) so I cheered myself up by buying brightly coloured art supplies.

Marna sent me this as a Kickstarter bonus present when I backed her book The Waste Land For Babies. It lives on my desk and cheers me up at work, and my colleague L. has expressed her intention of living in this house one day.

Today I tag squirmelia, because she likes an art project.
