It was called How To Be A Composer. Unfortunately, I do not understand my flatmate's magical ability to find old BBC programmes and download them, so I can't point you to it anywhere on the internet - it's there somewhere though. It doesn't actually teach you how to be a composer though. It doesn't even explain the difference between major and minor chords properly, just shows Paul Morley looking confused by them! Tsk.
I really really enjoyed watching that program and it forced me to confront both what I already knew about myself (that I am totally enamoured with drones and unduly fascinated by instruments and anyone who knows how to make them squeal in an appealing manner) and what I think I had attempted to repress (that apparently I just really really hate musical theater and post-war gospel on a reptilian level- I wouldn't want it to be so, but it was all I could to stop myself from screaming and lunging at the laptop screen, claws first, every time the school choir took the stage). Interesting :-)
